I know I have birthed an adorable infant, and she's not the only adorably cute one in Dubai. And i'm SURE, she's not the only one unexpectedly getting handprints, pinch marks on her cheeks from any random stranger now and then! Definitely a culture shock for us.
Oh, and the worse of them all? Kissing bub's hands from someone that may be ill or just strolled out from a toilet without washing their hands?!
I may allow you to do so IF you try asking?
How am I to enjoy my shopping trips if I keep having to smack off itchy hands or yell "Don't touch her!" half the time??!
If you're reading this and realized you are one of them, It is NOT OKAY to touch anyone's child without permission! So please do us mothers a favour and SLAP.YOUR.OWN.HANDS! One day I might not no longer close an eye and start reporting you for harassment.
Can someone creatively come up with a 'Touch Me Not' stroller/ pram sign or sticker, I'll be your first customer.

Oh gosh! I hate when that happens! People have no boundaries. And don't get me started on weirdos who want to take pictures of other people's kids...
ReplyDeletemost weird is, the waiters/waitresses try to 'please' us the parents by 'babysitting' the baby and toddlers while we are dining, taking them away without our permission, walking around the restaurant and let the other strangers touching them. I've once shocked then immediately run chasing after my kids! Better being annoyed by my own kids rather than letting them in unknown zone.
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone in this. I use a mosquito cover over my push chair because I hate the pinching problem. Sometimes they pinch the mouth/lips too which is totally gross and I have been known to shout at people who do seem most offended but I couldn't care less.
