This weekend hubby and I took our two little girls to visit that new 'cheesecake' venue in a Dubai Mall. We were told we had to leave our buggy outside which, to be fair, is not too much of a problem in Dubai, or so we thought. When we returned after we found our beautiful buggy missing and in its place a beaten up old one! Now I understand a genuine mistake, but if your eyesight is that bad that you mistook our lovely one for your beaten up one, you really shouldn't be 'driving' any kids around. The thing that gets me, is that these people must be parents and they should know how invaluable buggies are to families. The bits underneath and in pockets, favourite soft toys and blankets also. What sort of parent does this?? At first, I really hoped that it was a genuine mistake and that some flustered parent had zoomed off with the buggy with screaming kids and would realise at their car whoops and return it. But two days on I'm beginning to realise I was far too hopeful and feel seriously let down.

This is shocking to say the least!
ReplyDeleteI know, its really sad to think someone would do this. And like the venter said, if it was a mistake fine but it clearly wasn't :(
ReplyDeleteI own My Buggy Buddy and buggy theft is a growing problem, however us blokes would not leave a £50 push bike down the train station but parents will leave valuable buggies unattended outside the doctors or resturants. The My Buggy Buddy Lock is designed to attach the buggy to a railing or wire fence or if there is nothing to attach it to simply put it through the wheels so if someone tries to walk off with your buggy they will get stuck. Then when you are out and about you can attach your handbag to it whilst you are walking. It is available worldwide but not yet in Dubai however we hope it will be soon. I hope this helps.
DeleteIt happens in UK too. Especially bugaboos. Apparently there is a buggy lock that a company makes? Will find out name and post.
