Better Service for ID??

On a weekly basis you read news on how Emirates ID improve their service. So how come I didn't get a card in 5 months now?
What's the use of the hotline if they can only tell you what you see on "check card status" page? Thank you, I know that it's being processed, but I am calling you to know what's the actual status of the application and when will I get the card. Apparently they don't have access to that info. Is that only me who sees no improvement whatsoever?
